Is clearing data ok?

Hey guys 

I'm wondering if you could help me with something. I want to know if it is ok to clear the data from an app, if it will free up storage space? And that it won't delete my stuff. 

If you can help me that would be great.

Clearing the data could lose all your stuff if you haven't backed up. Clearing the cache for apps however will free some storage.

You should back up anything first before you delete the data from the app, if you don't you'll lose everything

@thejl22  Just to add that clearing the cache deletes the temporary files but does not effect the functionality of the apps, Data is intact.

Clearing data will make you lose your data in that particular app including sign in and passwords. You will have to sign in before that app if it requires it.
Clearing cache is the best thing to do.
I don't know if the series of phone you are using has a trash bin. You can go in there and empty that too. Deleted stuffs sits in there until you empty it and that takes storage too.

S23 Ultra has that trash bin.

Ok thank you, much appreciated, yeah I always make sure when I send something to the recycle bin I empty it straight away.

If your storage is getting low. You could buy extra cloud storage. You can buy USB type c storage memory sticks. Or if your phone does have an sd card slot, you can store photos, videos and music on the sd card if you buy one.
