I am sure that most of we internet users in this forum have had this annoying message to download some nuisance app claiming to remove viruses that are in our device at some time @transgurl. Rest assured that nothing is in your device UNTIL you download their free app which may be a Trojan one to spread malware on your device. Or you could download the app which will tell you that your phone is so infected that you need to pay for the Pro version to stop your device being ruined etc. Please just ignore these unpleasant scams and don't let them detract from all the positives you get from your daily internet use. 👍

What everyone is saying is truth. Its scam. Never click on the link as well as responding to it. There are steps you can take to keep your phone safe. Always update your phone on the latest software, including Google play system update and keeping your apps up to date. Consider turning on Device protection on Device Care.

I didn't think that these nasty things were still going around. I remember a few years ago they used to be quite scary, saying something like you have been monitored engaging in illegal activities etc & the popup was quite a pain to remove. There's some great responses here for you.
