Samsung A52S 5G, UI 5.1, Android 13
Many thanks,

Samsung really screwed this up. On my old phone I had to swipe lock screen before I could access apps. Now if you touch any message it goes straight to Pin or password screen and that is why everyone is call the emergency number. Samsung needs to update software to require a swipe to access any other screens.

This was more helpful than anything else I have found. Thank you so much! I called the police 3x today which resulted in officers sent out to our house twice b/c that's their protocol. Fortunately, they were super nice about it, but I don't want to waste their time when there's absolutely no need. Or worse, not be taken seriously if I do need them sometime.

I guess I found a solution without the need to restrict phone functionality.
I keep the phone in the pocket with my wallet. If I'm sliding the phone with the screen toward my wallet, it will never dial 911 (or any other number). It took a while to change my habit and, it kinda sticks to the wallet, but it works for me. No emergency calls in the past 3mo.

Yeah. Getting rid of this "feature" (aka bug) would be such an easy thing to program...
It's not that they can't do it, they don't want to do it...
