I sent my Galaxy A14 off for warranty repair with it set in Maintenance Mode. (It was not picking up LTE Band 20.) They have decided to replace it and have asked me for the passcode (presumably to sell it on). No way! They would have access to the passwords stored in my browsers.
Can anyone tell me how they might factory reset it?

You can remotely wipe it if they connect your phone to mobile data or WiFi. Have you backed up your phone though?

A Samsung Service Centre can easily factory reset through Android recovery mode. If they encounter factory reset protection (FRP), they can flash it. They are supposed to advise you to remove your Samsung and Google accounts before placing in maintenance mode to avoid FRP issues. They don't need the passcode, nor should they be asking for it.
