Health App sometimes under counts steps

The step counter on my A40 works perfectly most days, but whrn I sm out walking with group of friends, it greatly under counts tye steps 

1 can walk 4 miles in an hour and a half and it will show I have covered half a mile and taken 1200 steps in 20 minutes

My old earlier model still records perfectly

Any ideas?

Not sometimes, most times... Rather I will upgrade it to.... All the time

Have you tried clearing the Samsung Health cache NOT data?
