I have been samsung client since the beginning of the 90s when they sold TVs, (most people don't even know Samsung history to begin with).

I bought every single Samsung smartphone out there, all Galaxies, Xiaomi, iPhone, but this one galaxy A54 is not only mislead propaganda about the battery, but have nothing useful worth 550 EUR!!

I bought the phone and sold 4 days later!! The battery lasted less than a day, you charged 100% and if you turned off and left on the table next day it was 60%!!

I am still paying this phone, I don't even have it anymore, Samsung customer service is useless, they don't reply, they take days just top send a number so you can call and THAT NUMBER send you another number.

I DON'T WANT TO PAY THIS PHONE ANYMORE, I BELIEVE I HAVE BEEN FOOLED, I HAVE BEEN PLAYED BY SAMSUNG, AND I BELIEVE I DON'T NEED TO PAY TO A PHONE THAT DON'T KEEP ITS WORD ABOUT BATTERY!

I AM WILLING TO PAY A LAWYER TO SUE SAMSUNG FOR DAMAGES, AND LACK OF WORD OF ITS PRODUCTS. I FULLY RESENT ANY SAMSUNG AUTHORIZATION I EVER GAVE TO SAMUNG, I CUT CONTRACTS WITH SAMUNG AND NEVER MORE IN MY LIFE I WANT TO BUY SAMSUNG ANYMORE!!!!

Not the phone problem it's how it is its all down if you get any apps still running and brightness and even sometimes your phone case but other than that leaving on 100 and next day it be on 60 is average but not to forget the a54 isn't a big phone it isnt like the ultra series 😄

I used the standard apps from the box. I had to use battery save mode, and next day it was 60% without touching the phone. For a 550EUR phone this is unacceptable!

You mention that you've bought all the Samsung phones but then state in your list Xiaomi and iPhone, neither of which are Samsung products.

Battery life is a contentious issue everywhere. Our devices have larger screens, do much much more than they ever used to and this all takes power. For a device to use 40% battery when screen is off and the device unused may be a little high but it depends what is running in the background.

Also note that in the first couple of weeks, your device is learning about your usage so it can optimise your battery use. You didn't give it long enough to compete that journey.

You said you only had it 4 days and then sold it on. Why did you not simply return it under the 14 or 28 day returns window for a refund? That would have been the obvious solution to your problem. Instead you've sold it so Samsung cannot investigate your device issues and you cannot now refund it. Your loss won't be EUR550 but it will be the difference between what you paid for it and what you sold it for.

As Samsung cannot investigate the issue (as you've sold the device) I'm afraid there is nothing you can do now but you will have to pay the balance.

I have an A54 5g and S23 Ultra running side by side. The battery life on the A54 is insane and far out performs the S23 for battery life. The S23 is faster and has more functions but in terms of battery life My A54 is loaded with apps and I use it for work with with sat nav and streaming radio on all day as well as making and receiving calls and WhatsApp connected via Bluetooth to my car etc and it lasts the full day no problem where if I do same with the S23 I have to keep it on charge during the day to stop it going flat. Bothe phones would last days if not being used.

I think your issue may have been a faulty battery or maybe battery killers like screen brightness were eating up too much power.

I have noticed a drop in performance of some functions of the A54 following some of the system updates e.g the NFC isn't as good etc but sadly that's a problem with the updates we are getting, they often fix some things but break others?

On the whole I would rate the A54 as better workhorse for a work phone on the road and the S23 better for a personal phone unless you have access to a charger during the day

Hope this helps

For comparison both phones were charged to 100% yesterday at around 10pm it is now 13:41pm the next day and my A54 is on 81% battery and my S23 is on 41% as I type this message

  • There are major problems with this phone. I detailed everything I turned off in another thread (somebody else was OP) and nobody could answer back. Turned off almost everything. No social media installed. No rogue apps. Nearly all installed apps in deep sleep. The Samsung mod went quiet after I compared 5 year phones with battery sizes 2/3s the size of the A54, and handling more connections and screen on vs a modern £500 phone.

Again, the HiSilicon Kirin 710 from 5 years ago is better and more efficient than a Exynos 1380. How embarrassing for Samsung. It explains their propaganda videos pushed to illustrate battery prowess - it was an overcomepensation (and an outright lie).

Far too many Shamsung shills here trying to suggest (not even justify), and somehow with a straight face, turning off all normal everyday features and turn the phone into a lump of dumb plastic, ignoring the fact the ancient, cheaper phones that came before still do better.

Samsung has not acknowledged this. It's been ignored, swept under the rug. Money saved. It'a been 6-7 months and all we have got is security patches. Unacceptable.

Edit: too add to that, I noticed that battery drain in the background tends to creep up over time. Starting around 1.5 and could work its way as high as 5% per hour, again with hardly any apps on, good signal, offline finding off, BT/WiFi scanning off, etc.
