As a couple of others have mentioned, holding down the power and volume down buttons enables you to restart your phone without having input your pattern/pin/password or fingerprint. It tends to be working normally after the restart. Other than that I haven't found any way to stop this actually happening yet.

I read about this so uninstalled Netflix, I then had the same issue less than 12 hours later! Thankfully holding the power and volume down buttons seems to do the trick but really would be nice to stop it happening altogether. Could this perhaps be an issue with the fingerprint scanner as some have suggested?

I just discovered there is a update available, did that. Seems all my streaming apps are working now.
Last month my phone also just shut off while calling and browsing at the same time . Hope this update will fix al the problems.

Had the same problem with my wife's A14 5G and then put a new micro SD storage card into it (we had her old card in it from her Huawei P10 lite) and the switch on problem has disappeared, now working as it should. Perhaps the phone picks up the failing card on start up and shuts it down immediately. Hope this helps somebody else. Phone has worked perfectly all day, since the change.

I had an unresponsive A14 5g which was 1month old, the solution that worked for me was pressing down on the back just under the camera lens. There seems to be a contact point that got loose. Nothing was wrong with the hardware, just a contact point issue maybe due to bending. Thanks , sharing to anyone who may need this
