Factory reset a53 5g ui8 fiasco

Amazon have agreed a refund so...
How does one factory reset this thing ?

When select Factory reset, it says checking, asked me my pass key, then asks to send email to verify, (Gmail) then goes to a samsung page (Chrome) where it says verification OK please return to previous page (samsung app) .

If I return to settings , I get stuck in the same loop !

What's wrong here

Did you remove your accounts from the device before attempting the factory reset?

I was just following orders..  I didn't  remove accounts , I expect factory reset to do that,  I'm not sure why it kept me in a loop , the two previous times I had reset it , while trying to fix ui8 sim problem,  went without a hitch .

Anyway, Thanks AsadM. I managed to reset via the up&power button method in the end . Cleared caches etc. before returning to supplier tomorrow.

Sign out of your Google and Samsung accounts then factory reset. Resetting without signing out doesn't remove the accounts and will ask you for your login again. It's a theft protection called FRP.
