It's disgraceful you have to buy a phone plug charger separate for your phone, £15 for just a plug is disgusting and they know you can't one from another supply chain because if you then had a charge problem with your phone you'd bought elsewhere it would invalidate your warranty...

This really is old news and has been the standard policy for the past couple of years.

This is in the name of being an 'eco conscious' company and striving for meeting zero carbon targets.

Being honest I see both sides of the coin. It would sometimes be nice to receive a new charger, but then most people have many old charger plugs and cables from previous generations and phones.

It is very wasteful to throw away old cables and plugs, to replace them with a new one. That is the main reason for the new policies. Bear in mind that other phone manufacturers also have followed and do the same now, except a few Asian market companies that still provide plugs.

Sorry this is not a solution, but really just justifying the reasons why apple, samsung, Google and others will no longer supply free adaptors. Of course if you don't have one then you are forced to buy one.

I don't disagree with some of your statement,but the fact is you have no choice but to buy one of their chargers because if you've bought a certain make of Samsung phone they know there's not one included so unfortunately your hand is forced to buy one,But as you say you could use an old charger but if any problems where to arise your warranty would still be invalid 👍

I do not believe that statement is true about a voided warranty.

I would not buy the cheapest Chinese charger devices... that is asking for trouble when plugging in your expensive device.

But there are many reputable charger companies such as anker and others. Anker original business was with batteries and charging goods... all supplied with a good quality control.

I personally would be more than happy to use a good quality non-samsung charger.

Be also wary that there are a lot of counterfeit charger plugs claiming to be samsung genuine and are fake. So use some diligence in selecting where to buy from. Third party seller and eBay are risky. Reputable retailers would be likely genuine.

They would know at this moment in time that it wouldn't one of there's as i purchased the phone off Samsung website and they would know what was in the phone box when they sold it.

Samsung phones accept a few forms of charger. Slow usb (so a pc). 5v normal chargers, usb pd 1-3 for fast charging and usb pd 3 with PPS for super fast charging. Any charger works, Samsung doesn't care. Though to unlock full super fast charging, you need to be sure you have a high wattage usb pd PPS charger. Official Samsung chargers meet these requirements. £15 is really cheap for a high wattage charger

I usually only buy Samsung Chargers but that's me and as @smiley and others have said you can use other charger but not sure what performance you will get

Don't buy too cheap a Samsung charging brick as most likely fake but the 15w ones are pretty cheap now but charging will take a lot longer

They don't know if you already had a Samsung charger. The whole point of not providing a charger is that most people already have one from an old phone.
