Hello.
I have a Samsung A53 but lost the pin code, so I'd like to factory-reset it.
I tried all I could find here, but nothing works.
WHen I try to power it off (power button and volume-) it does not turn off. if I press power down, it asks me for the pin, so I'm stuck. If I just press the power and volume- it kind of restart, but does not turn off.
When restarting, I press power and Volume+ button, but that does nothing. It just wakes up normally and....ask me for pin.
So I'm stuck. Any idea how to work around this?

If you've forgotten your PIN to unlock the device, then you can boot to recovery menu and reset the device, but as mentioned, you'll need to know the email and password used during initial set up as you'll need these after the reset.
To proceed with reset via recovery menu
Plug into a working PC or laptop or other Samsung device
Turn the device off, then press the power button and volume up at the same time until the Samsung logo appears. Then let go of both buttons. You are now in recovery mode, scroll down using the volume buttons to reset the device, and confirm with the power button. Follow all on-screen prompts.
When reset, enter your credentials as mentioned before.
WARNING: You will lose all data. Hopefully, you have a backup?
If you are unable to boot to recovery menu due to a forgotten PIN. Then, the only other course of action is to take the phone to an authorised Samsung centre and let them unlock it for you. You'll need to be able to prove the device is yours.

Hi.
As I explained in the original text, I am not able to power off the A53, because I lost pin code, and somehow it asks for pin code to power off. SO entering recovery mode does not work.
I don't have credentials either.

I have a Galaxy A53 5g. I tried to enter recovery mode but that's simply not working for me. I am trying to reset/erase my phone as I want to hand it over to one of my sons, but it is overcomplicated and asking for some credentials which I don't remember. Simply put I could not figure out how to enter recovery mode using power + volume up buttons. Is there any other way? Thank you!
