My new hearing aids are ASHA compatible which I read is supported from Android 10 onwards. My Samsung Galaxy A40 is running Android 11 but will not connect to my hearing aids. I get a message stating that I need an App to connect. Is this a hardware issue with my phone and ASHA as my phone was, I think, Android 9 when purchased.

I really would like to stream phone calls direct to my hearing aids as I struggle to to hear on the phone. My aids are Oticon Engage and I use the Oticon On App which connects to the aids just fine for adjysting volume etc., but will not stream calls.

I found there are 2 ways phones connect with oticon hearing *****, Directly, or via a ConnectClip device that you have to find, put batteries in and wear (obviously not my choice).

How do tell? Use this web site for Oticon HAs.

 https://www.oticon.com/support/compatibility?filters=Oticon%20Real%E2%84%A2%20miniRITE%20T;SamsungGa...

Using this site discloses that A41 requires Connect Clip to connect to HAs while A50 shows it connects with "Direct Audio Streaming"

If in doubt get your audiologist to check it for your brand of hearing aid.
