In same motions and gestures settings you can find double tap

Try turning on accidental touch protection in settings > display > accidental touch protection
Also settings > advanced features > lift to wake turn it off
Also in same advanced features make sure "double tap to screen turned off"

Try a forced reboot by holding down the volume down key and power button simultaneously for more than 7 seconds to restart it. When your phone resets, you will feel it vibrate.
