Hi,
I have got a Samsung Galaxy A54 5G, and I am trying to use this USB audio/charging cable, which contains a DAC: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0BX9CPN6N. This is a "JSAUX USB C to 3.5mm Jack and Charger Adapter" and looks like
According to the Amazon listing it is compatible with many other recent Samsung phones, but doesn't mention the A54.
The problem is that it doesn't appear to be recognised by the A54 at all - there is no headphones icon in status, and sound continues to come through the phone speakers. The dongle *does* seem to work on my Windows laptop, but not on the phone.
Has anyone had any luck with this type of dongle or has any ideas?

Do Samsung offer a dongle which lets you listen to audio and charge at the same time? Cos that's what I need. I know they do a USB-C to audio cable on its own (although even that is marked as "no longer available" in their UK online shop).

As far as I can tell, the dongle I have only works if it is plugged into a power source - you cannot use it with just headphones plugged in. I think this is because the phone isn't sending enough power to "activate" it. Apparently this doesn't happen on other recent Samsung phones, so I'm not sure why the A54 is acting differently.
I guess I can use this adapter in the car, where I might need charging and AUX at the same time on long journeys, and have a smaller adapter with just 3.5mm output, for when not near a power source. This seems rather messy.
The remaining problem is which audio-only dongle to get. The official Samsung one (https://www.samsung.com/uk/mobile-accessories/type-c-adapter-ee-uc10-ee-uc10juwegww/) no longer seems to be available to buy new, and there are fakes about 😞

Just asking for clarification: are you saying that the device you linked to in your first message (the JSAUX one on Amazon) lets wired headphones work with your A54 5G but ONLY when a USB C charger is plugged into the splitter as well?
Second point: did you find a USB C to 3.5mm jack that works on your A54 5G? (I have tried 2 different ones and neither worked).
Grateful for any help you can provide.

Yes, the JSAUX connector lets wired headphones work with my A54 5G but ONLY when a USB C charger is plugged into the splitter as well. On my laptop, it will work with headphones even without any USB-C power input so I'm not sure what's different about the A54.
I *have* found a single USB-C to 3.5mm adapter that works, one that doesn't have a separate charging input. Perhaps riskily, I went for JSAUX again, but it seems to work fine. It was this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Headphone-Adapter-JSAUX-Compatible-Samsung-Red/dp/B088PLPJ3L
By the way, I notice that JSAUX do two other USB-C charging/audio splitters that look different externally to the one I bought (pic at top of this page):
I have no idea why they have three different designs, and I haven't tested the above two.
I am still interested in a solution that would allow me to use wired headphones on the A54 and charge at the same time, if anyone finds anything that works.

Thanks for the reply, very useful, I will order one of those JSAUX adapters - it will do most of what I want.
I will also continue to search for an adapter that works for headphones even when not connected to a charger. If I find one I'll post it on this thread.
