A52S no option for wifi calling

Hi,

On my A52S 5G I have no option to enable WiFi Calling. It's just not there in the phone app or general settings. I have tried with an O2 and a Vodafone sim card to see if that makes any difference but it just doesn't show as an option unlike the many guides online which suggest it should be there as an option to enable.

My phone was bought from John Lewis so is not associated with any of the major networks and I note that Vodafone etc state Wifi Calling may only work on certain handsets if they sell them. But I would have thought the option would be in the settings of the phone regardless of whether it then works with a particular provider.

Has anyone else had this problem / resolved it?

Thanks in advance.

Just an update. The WiFi Calling option appeared after I contacted my network provider, O2. I needed to switch from PAYG to a Pay Monthly and then they changed some setting related to EU data and calls on my account. After this (I restrated my phone) and the WiFi Calling option appeared. I also had the option to choose wehether I preferred WiFi or LTE calling when both are available. I tried calling in Airplane mode using WiFi Calling at it worked. Hope that's helpful for others and thans for the comments and help.

Thanks so much for the very quick reply. That's helpful to know albeit a shame and frustrating if it's a wider issue. I hope you get yours resolved too.

Just had a reply from Samsung Support who say I have to get WiFi calling enabled by my network provider first before it will even show as an option on my handset. I hope that's right because this could involve changing network operator and it's going to be very annoying if then it still doesn't work.

you won't have it in the notification drop down, the icon isn't there,I'm with vodafone uk and logged in to my account and activated it from there, the icon appeared instantly for me to be able to turn it on and off👍Screenshot_20220326-163606_My Vodafone.jpg

Awesome, thanks for this confirmation that provides a lot of reassurance so I'll go ahead and speak to the network provider. Really appreciate it.

thanks so much. I have been trying to see if it's an option and then decide whether I need to change service provider. But now it seems like it should work I have switched contracts with the provider and now once that's confirmed I'll request the WiFi calling. I just didn't want to do that if there was some issue with the phone. But from comments above it seems that hopefully the WiFi callinng will show as an option once I enable things with the provider.

I'll post an update as to whether it worked on not.

Really appreciate people's assitance and experience.
