I am thinking of buying an A52S 5G. I want a good camera and I am concerned about the size of file that a 64MP picture would create if saved to the phone. I assume that there is an option to take photos in 12MP but does this produce a poorer quality picture. Can anyone with one of these phones help please.

Thank you. Have purchased the A52S 5G now and quite pleased. It has an optical zoom but is about half the price of the S20FE.

It doesn't have an optical zoom. It has optical image stabilisation. Quite different.

Well satisfied with results anyway.

I’ve been considering the Samsung A52S 5G myself, especially because of its 64MP camera. It’s true that the higher the resolution, the larger the file size, which could take up more storage, especially if you're taking lots of high-res photos. That said, most modern phones like the A52S 5G usually offer an option to switch to a lower resolution, like 12MP, which can reduce the file size significantly without a huge impact on everyday photo quality. For most casual users, you probably won’t notice a big difference unless you're zooming in a lot or printing very large photos.
If you’re really concerned about the file size but still want good photo quality, you can always convert your high-res HEIC images to JPG after taking them. There are some online tools that can help with this. One I came across recently is this tool, which makes the conversion process quick and easy. It’s really simple to use and can save you a lot of storage space without compromising on quality.
