S25 OneUI 7 vs the S24 Beta

I have my concerns. The OneUI 7.0 presented at Unpacked looks very different from what we're getting in the beta.
Last year they advertised the S24 Ultra as the first Galaxy AI phone, built for an AI FUTURE.
I've been testing betas for years, every time they've been available, and the final release is almost identical to the beta and I'm not expecting that to change here. But that also brings massive disappointments for the "AI Future" built phone. I was hoping the vast majority of AI features would also be brought to the S24s, given Samsung's advertising and vision for their flagships
But it doesn't seem that way for the S24s.
They seemed to stress that it was the S25s hardware - the much faster NPU that enables all these software features. Which doesn't give much hope for a proper OneUI 7.0 that is being shipped on S25s.

I completely agree with your assessment above but I think as it's past year phone it will be delivered later on lets say 3 months later with 7.1 update I guess. They have to show somehow that S25U is better than S24U.
In reality there isn't much difference other than AI features backed in from release....

Hope you're correct. I have been on the upgrade programme for 3 years and last year Samsung ended it. 😔
Which means I can't upgrade to the S25 but was really hoping most features would come to the S24. Not so sure now 😕

Given they've pushed the release of stable One UI 7 back until the S25 ship date, my guess is some of it will come in the stable release. I'm guessing they just want to make it seem new and exclusive to the S25 to boost pre-orders. The fact that Samsung's own comparison for S24 Vs S25 only compares the S25 to an S24 running One UI 6.1 seems to back this up since it makes it look like there's more of a feature gap than there actually is.

Also the devs mentioned after the launch of beta 3 (which removed a few now bar options) that the now bar will have more features in the stable release which I'm guessing is the new S25 now bar stuff.

As others have said, if it doesn't get them in the stable release it will most likely get them eventually so I wouldn't worry too much. Only things I don't think it'll get are the ProScaler, on device options for generative edit etc and maybe audio eraser since they seem hardware dependant

True, I don't think processor upgrade is huge one this time around tbh. But they might not release it to keep it exclusive to latest model. Just to keep some feature gap for sale purposes

That's what I'm worried about, most things came over from the S23 to the S24, the only thing that didn't was the Wallpaper AoD. But I feel like they're going to deliberately hold back on features now there's not a lot different between them 😕

I think the wallpaper AOD thing being omitted on S23 and below was hardware related. Supposedly it would cause burn in on older devices due to changes in the display tech (this has been somewhat backed up by some custom rom developers too). Yeah just hope they don't pull the same thing they did with the S21 Ultra 6.1 update and omit the changes for the sake of it

The promise was a software update, and if they stick to that, then they've kept their promise. Update doesn't mean innovation or new. Unfortunately the company needs to make a profit and some things will need to be exclusive. What I also found annoying alongside the above is the S-Pen downgrade on the S25U i wonder if they'll sell a separate Bluetooth S-Pen as optional. (C)
