One UI 6.
 My Files app
Option to disable recycle bin is no longer present. This means that files that are "deleted" to free up space remain and actually still take up space for another 30 days.

The option to disable the bin needs to be restored. I do not want deleted items stored in bin for 30 days I want them deleted.

Why would you even remove it in the first place...

Time to switch to Google photo

Please bring the option back, to turn off the trash folder. For Gallery, for Samsung Notes and for My Files. Looks like this got been remove for all the latest Android 14 Apps.

I 100% agree with the other users that have posted on here: why remove useful functionality that your Samsung device owners were using??  I don't want my deleted files or photos to remain on the mobile device - then give me an extra step to perform by manually emptying a recycle bin I never asked for.  You could even argue this is a data protection/security oversight not to mention redundant data retention = wasted storage space!  #BringItBack

Why change? The option should be ours not yours . We pay the big bucks for the phone so we should be able to enable or disable any option we want

Pretty sure everyone wants this feature back...I just updated and instantly noticed this. It might be "simple" but it is really useful. A simple google search, and you can see the many users complaining about this.

@AnnaMaz Just so people are aware - I have reported this in app as feedback.

The Samsung representative was adamant that when files are recycled they're safe, that my privacy is respected and that Knox also secures my data. Which was a load of rubbish. Despite me proving that when "recycled" files are just moved to a folder called located at "storage/emulated/0/Android/.Trash/com.sec.android.gallery3d". And these files can be seen and accessed by other apps. I know because I can see them in Solid Explorer and I've created a Tasker routine to regularly delete them.

Long story short, images you "recycle" are vulnerable to be accessed by apps on your device and transmitted elsewhere.

I want this option back. This shoul be a user option and with default value "off". There are a lot of users that would not know how to really delete videos and photos when they need to free space.
