You're both using the same network router correct? Have you tried restarting your router. Having multiple devices on the same router can have many reasons why one device experiences faster/slower speeds than another, it's not a simple issue and it rarely has anything to do with the device itself. What I would suggest is checking the link speeds you and your partner are getting to your router. To do this you will need to enable connectivity labs by going to Settings and search for intelligent WiFi. Keep pressing on it until it opens up the Connectivity Labs. Open this and select your connection, scroll to the bottom and select More. This will display your network link speed to your connected router.
I've not noticed a problem with wifi. Sorry, not very helpful. However, I did clear the phone's cache in the bootloader after OneUI7 beta had installed.
