Android auto phone needs to be unlocked

I've noticed when plugging my phone into the car (toyota) it now needs to be manually unlocked before AA will start. Previously I just needed to plug the phone in and it would start.

I also have this issue when I plug into my Ioniq 5, but it works fine with wireless android auto on my Cupra Formentor.

I'm having problems with Android auto, Ford (wired). It seems to only work intermittently.

Need to unlock phone for it to connect to Android Auto (wired connection) before the beta it would connect without unlocking the phone. Audi S5

Had the same issue and found the fix!
Turn off block usb connection when phone is locked
