Hi,

I got a Samsung Touchscreen LH22DBD from a business which was removing throwing them away.

Unfortunately the panel keys are locked. The message says that you need to go to Menu > System > General > Security > Button Lock and select off.

I didn't had the remote but got hold on one that should be the same. The IR light on the monitor respons to it but when pressing menu nothing happens. So I found in the manual that there is also a serial option. So I made the cable (RS232 to mini jack) according to spec but no output. The network port is also off. The manual is not helping me and not much of info on the internet.

In other words how do I reset this touchscreen so that I can use all it's functions?

Hello @jurr,

That is a good question! I will gladly help you so that you can use all functions of the monitor. It could be that retailmode is on. Can you go to  Settings ---> General & Privacy ---> System Manager ---> Usage Mode. Change the setting to 'Home mode'. The default Pin when asked is 0000.

Feel free to let us know if it works.

With kind regards,

Ajay

Hi Ajay,

Thanks for your reply! I cannot open the settings menu via de remote. The IR light is going on and off when I press the menu button but nothing more happens. No menu on screen or settings. How can I get in the settings menu?

Maybe via USB? It's a touchscreen. Is there a driver and or tool for it?

Thank you

Thank you for your reaction jurr,

It could that it didn't work because you don't have the original remote control. Can you try the following for a hard reset?

- Turn off the screen by pressing the Power Off button on the remote.

- Once switched off (LED indicator is steady red), press the following combination of buttons: Mute, 1, 8, 2, Power On.

- After this, a menu should appear. Use it to take the following steps: Options > Factory Reset > Factory Reset

The screen will restart and display the boot setup menu.

Feel free to let us know if this worked.

With kind regards,
Ajay

Hi Ajay,

Thank you for this suggestion. It's correct that it is not the original remote control. I borrowed it from another tv/monitor.

The screen is not reacting to the Power Off button. So I cannot get the screen off. I tried the other steps but no menu is showing.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you so far for your help!

Kind regards, Jurr

Hallo jurr,

Every universal remote comes with a manual for connecting to different brands and models.

We recommend to contact your seller about this. Maybe there is something possible within their terms and conditions. Feel free to let us know if they provide you with a solution.

With kind regards,

Ajay

Hi Ajay,

Sorry for the confusion. I got a original Samsun remote model number: BN59-01180A.

The IR sensor of the screen shows a red light but nothing happens. No menu is openend.

That was the reason why I asked do I need to program the remote? I see a "set" and "unset" button neer the text "IR Control". So I guess I need to set something? Can you help me with this?

Thank you!
