I have a near-new T5 Black 2TB where the internal PCB has malfunctioned and does not recognize the SSD. The blue LED is off and the enclosure gets extremely hot very quickly.
Once disassembled, I removed the SSD and plugged in the PCB and the blue LED glows but does not flicker. Again, gets really hot fairly quick, under 10 sec is too hot to touch.
I tested the PCB with an 850 EVO 1TB mSATA and nothing, blue LED turns off and my computer doesn't see it.
The 2TB SSD has 100% health and has less than 1400GB written.
Is this a firmware issue with the PCB or something else?
Tested on an ASUS G75VW and an ASUS G55VW using a high quality data cable that functions perfectly fine with my other T5 SSD's.

Firmware issues on the PCB could cause it to fail to recognize the SSD properly, leading to the problems you're seeing. Firmware is responsible for managing the communication between the SSD and the computer via the USB interface. If the firmware is corrupt or outdated, this can result in the drive not being recognized.

Thank you for your reply.
Is there a link available for the 2TB firmware and instructions on how to reinstall the drivers properly? It's not clear to me how this would even be possible if I cannot get my laptop to even see/recognize the PCB at all.
I have previously tried to contact Samsung's USA service center (Total Tech Solutions), but because this drive is second-hand the warranty is no longer valid.
Any suggestions on how I can repair this myself?
