I recently bought a Samsung SSD 990 Pro 2TB with Heatsink from the Samsung Store at Amazon. Packaging and drive look authentic. Drive shows up with newest firmware as well 4B2QJXD7, but the serial number is not recognized. I can't run any of the features of the Samsung Magician program because of this.
Yeah, that sounds like what happens with some OEM or region-locked drives. If Samsung Magician doesn’t recognize the serial, it might not be a retail version or it could be a gray market unit. I’d double-check with Samsung support just to be safe.
