Hello,

Yesterday I received my new laptop Samsung Galaxy Book 4 edge. After setting it up I downloaded and installed the available Samsung harware updates on the machine.

But after that as I restarted my system, the screen goes blank once the system is booted.

While swithcing on I only get to see the Samsung logo loading for a few secs and then everything goes blank on the screen although the laptop is still power on.

This machine uses the new SD X Elite chip. Does anyone else facing the same issue?

I also recieved this laptop yesterday as I pre ordered as well.After I finished the Win11 setup, I received that update and  ended up in a black screen.Oled Screen/External Display/HdMi port did not work.I startet a Windows recovery,reinstalled Windows, received the Update and got the black screen again...

So I rebootet in windows save mode and disabled the GPU.Now Windows boots properly and the Display is alive but lacks of the GPU support.Hope there will be a fix avail soon, otherwise I will sent back the device...

 

Edit: I selected/installed the previous GPU driver( while running windows in save mode).This brought my Laptop and Display back to life.Thus the issue seems to be related to the latest Qualcomm GPU... drivers....

Yes. I will wait this week to see if they resolve it. If not, I will return it.

Hi There,

Did just receive my samsung galaxy book edge and had the same problem.
After I installed the SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD. - System Hardware Update - 6/4/2024 the display stops working.

I don't know whose fault is but I had to restore the machine 3 times already.
Give us support or will return it.

Well, I have called the technical support service and they have told me directly that the best option is to return it because they do not know what is happening.

 

I think that's what I'll do.

 

Does anyone know anything different?

 

It's a shame, I had good expectations.

I started windows in save mode and started the device manager. I selected the GPU and updated the driver selecting the previous one. Thus it is still listed in the system and present.

New update came in and I think problem solved, but the CPU is still running below it's 3.8 Ghz treshold.Captura de pantalla 2024-06-14 075521.png

Got the Samsung update 6/12/2024 today. (The update contained a BIOS update) Unfortunately, it did not fix the blank screen issue. I installed the latest Qualcomm GPU drivers (v 31.0.54.1 from 28.05.2024) and still ended up having a blank screen. Backdating to GPU driver v31.0.54.0 brought back the display....
So still no fix available...

A new update has arrived.

 

It has solved the CPU problem, it is much faster, in fact, the fans turn on much more.

 

The GPU driver is still not fixed, if I update to the most recent one the black screen will still remain

 

but it seems there is less left :smiling-face:
