Guys I had accidentally put my charger in the wrong USB port and all of a sudden my chromebook go wont turn on the light indicator is off as well I tried hard reset and all that pls tell me someone can help
Just as a precursor... I dont have one of these chromebook go... but engineering judgement would say the following.
From the pic I added, it seems the USB3.2 port above your charging port. By pushing the USBC connector into this USB3.2 port should not likely provide any power to the port as it is the common ground around the outer of the USB C connector.
However, there is a chance that this metal object could have possibly short circuited the USB 3.2 port. I would hope that there is some design constraints against a catastrophic failure of the port being short circuited... but it is hard to be sure.
There is also a chance that you have damaged the USBC cable connector by forcing it... and that the unit is ok... just your charger is damaged.
Do you have another USB C cable from another device ? More and more are used with devices these days. Preferably 60W or more should be enough to power the laptop.
So i would;
- first confirm the cable charger is not faulty.
- if it is ok and the unit still doesnt switch on then it might need to go to a service center. There is not much you can do from home... without removing the case, checking input fuse, measuring the battery voltage etc.
Not the work I would suggest unless you are an engineer or understand basic electronics. A DVM would be useful for fault finding as well.
Contact samsung service and book it in would be my recommendation.
