Logged onto my laptop recently and wondered why my Galaxy Book 4 Edge was feeling a tad iffy.

Turns out the uptime has been 19 days—which I know isn't abysmal but definitely should be restarting more often. I had a coding assignment due so didnt want to risk turning it off.

It does remind me of how many issues can be sorted by a simple reboot. So many problems on these forums have been solved by the good old off and on.

Kinda fun fact, in a normal windows configuration shut down is actually a partial hibernation. Core windows systems are saved to disk and continued on the next boot. Speeds up the boot if parts of the os never shut down. Thats why your up time is what it is.

If you go into control panel, system and security, power options, chose what the power buttons do, press change all settings that are currently unavailable. Fast startup is what does it. Not really recommend but turning it off makes your pc do a true full shut down each time.

Reboots always reload windows in full

Thank you for sharing! Very interesting. I normally fully turn off my laptop to reset the timer, and have my laptop set to fully shut down- but I had too many code software programs open, and I'm very forgetful—so I literally kept it awake until I was done 😅

I found Microsoft Edge the culprit, restrict that.

100% a reboot, maybe suggest Samsung copy their own mobile auto optimisation.
