Dear Samsung Support Team,
I recently updated my LS49CG934SUXEN monitor to firmware version 1007.1, which introduced features such as Panel Care and resolved the random black screen issue I previously experienced during gaming. While the update addressed the black screen issue, it introduced a significant problem: the monitor loses input signal when my computer enters sleep mode or when Windows' auto monitor-off feature activates.
This issue seems to occur specifically when both the DisplayPort and Mini-HDMI cables (Samsung-supplied) are connected to my graphics card. Once the monitor enters sleep mode or turns off, waking the computer results in a persistent black screen, and the only way to restore functionality is to physically restart the computer.
Here are the troubleshooting steps I’ve already tried without success:
1. Verified BIOS settings.
2. Updated and reinstalled GPU drivers (using DDU for a clean install).
3. Performed a complete Windows reset.
4. Reset BIOS settings.
5. Attempted to use keyboard shortcut Windows Key + Ctrl + Shift + B to reset the display driver.
After extensive testing, I found that downgrading the firmware to version 1002.2 temporarily resolved the issue. To achieve this, I renamed the older firmware file to 0000.0 and manually installed it. Following the downgrade, the monitor no longer loses signal in sleep mode or when Windows turns the monitor off. However, this is not a viable long-term solution for the following reasons:
1. Downgrading removes the Panel Care feature introduced in firmware 1007.1.
2. It may reintroduce the random black screen issue while gaming, which is also unacceptable.
This problem needs to be escalated to your technical department for further investigation and resolution. As a regular PBP mode user, connecting only one input at a time is not a suitable workaround.
I have lost faith in live support due to their lack of helpfulness and would appreciate if this matter could be addressed promptly with a firmware fix.
Thank you for your attention to this issue.
Best regards,
John

I have finally figured out what was causing this issue for me. It's not the monitor luckily. It turns out its the windows version 24H2. Did a new windows install using a 23H2 image and blocked windows from updating to 24H2. Monitor works like a charm again.

I had the same issue just now. Restarting PC didn't fix it right away, I got the VGA light on my motherboard. I unplugged power from the screen and plugged it back in, then it turned on. First time it happens, I installed this FW a few months ago.
I have the full size HDMI and DP cables plugged in.

I was hopeful that the 1009.1 firmware update would finally address the ongoing HDMI input issue I’ve been experiencing. Specifically, my Samsung monitor fails to recognize the HDMI input when restarting or waking from sleep, forcing me to manually power cycle my PC to get it working again.
Unfortunately, after updating from 1006.0 to 1009.0, the issue persists. To make matters worse, Samsung doesn’t provide any patch notes, so I have no idea what’s actually changed in this update.
What I do know is that firmware 1002.1 completely solved this problem for me. So why is this issue still present in newer updates?
If anyone else is dealing with this or has found a workaround, let me know. At this point, I just want a stable fix. Do better, Samsung.
