Hi All,
Here a group to gather all who are interested in pursuing Samsung against the faulty screen design of the galaxy book laptops that lead to an issue of durability of the screen which is prone to physical damage even when used with reasonable care!
I believe many of you are facing a similar problem I have! That is why I came up with an idea to gather more people as possible to start a Group Court action against Samsung for screens design fault for galaxy book laptops.
Please state you interest to go through with it and let our reasons to be heard!
Regards,
Laura

Currently having this issue. I bought the laptop only 3 months ago. It's been sat on my side in my flat. I opened it to try and get oasis tickets to notice the hairline crack. Rang up customer service after reading this forum and they said take it to Currys for a repair. Took it to Currys immediately who said they may not repair it but they'll send it off. They said they'd fight the claim for me. Once at the repair centre it says online that they will ring up and explain why they can't fix it. They didn't it just said repair complete so I got excited that it had been fixed. Currys store rang me this morning to say it's ready for collection unfortunately they've not fixed it. I said that's strange as I was told the above. They said well I can contact customer services but there's nothing more they can do. I have separate insurance in the laptop it's £80 + I have to pay postage and packaging which will be a lot! I know time is of the essence but I've just had surgery and I'm in not fit state to go into store to argue my case at least for a month. I'm also ADHD/tism so this ***** stresses me out but my sense of justice is super strong and I want to get this sorted as it's a lot of money! I've 3 months left to pay it on creation too. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

Awh thank you!
I have a little update.
Currys in store refused. Suggested I go to Samsung directly. I went to the store they said ring a number. Rang said number they said under the 2 year warranty and even though it's less than 3 months old they won't approve repairs. So I said to escalate it and she agreed and is raising it higher. So some senior people will contact me in 1-2 days hopefully.
I'm going to go armed with all the reports from Currys, these forums and the article where Curry's admitted it was an issue and are doing an investigation.
To add Currys did say, if Samsung say yes we approve you to give this exchange/refund then they will authorise. So to me I think Samsung should just say yes as it's no skin off their nose. It's Currys who are selling it so it'll be a loss/win to Currys 🤷🏼♀️🤔
Anyways, let's hope I don't have to explain myself till I'm blue in the face.
I've added photos of my laptop that the Currys repair team have taken themselves. Note the line across the middle is the fold in the paper! Hope the cracks are clear for you guys to see!

Another update!
I've literally just spoken to Richie from the senior team in Samsung. They've given me a number for a repair team and an email for me to reply with all my pictures, links to these forums and the newspaper article. Richie said that Samsung is not aware of these forums or the article, I said well they are legit they are on your own website and the newspaper article is from a trusted news outlet so!
Urgh this is such a long process and so stressful! I said because this is a known issue but multiple people and there is a news article about it, they should legally open up a case for it. I said laptops are supposed to be durable and not break or default after less than 3 months of not a lot of use.
How is everyone else getting on?

Well done Bees. Keep plugging on.
I bought my laptop direct from Samsung, so Currys won't won't help. I contacted Samsung directly and got the screen reviewed. They deemed that it was due to external factors (eg. dropped, lid closed with something on the keyboard, squeeze on the laptop while the lid was closed etc.), which of course is not what happenned.
Probably unrelated: The screen cracked a few days after I'd revieved my laptop back from having the tracker pad replaced, which I had to fatcory reset my laptop (part of the problem diagnosis) and set it back up again once I got it back. The tracker pad is still not right - I have to reboot the laptop to stop the pointer wandering sometimes.

Hi, sorry to hear you're also having issues! Currently on hold to Samsung as we speak after having a 4th person contact me regarding this issue and gotten absolutely no where!!!! They all keep saying it's not covered under warranty I said forget that what are you guys actually doing to prove it's not a manufacturing issue given youve been made aware of multiple people having this exact same issue and a newspaper article where Curry's themselves have admitted they are investigating it. Nothing I just get told it's a cosmetic issue and I can't prove it wasn't me basically. I said sorry why would a laptop have a crack appear across the screen with no other evidence of anything. I said I haven't dropped it it's just been sat there if I'd dropped it or did anything to it there'd be marks or further damage. Again silence. Well you can't prove it's us either. I said no that's what you guys need to investigate the fact it's clearly an issue with the design of this particular laptop. I kept saying but what are you guys actually going to do to prove it's not a design issue. So now apparently the repair team are going to collect the laptop and "investigate" it for a manufacturing issue. Which I have little hope on. My questions are how will they prove from ONE laptop that it isn't a design fault and what actual tests will they be doing 🤔 when they inevitably come back with "it's not our issue" I will then go back to Currys and probably send them the same email I sent to Currys with the links and news paper article and with the fact I've been to Samsung too..
Any one else have any more updates?

Okay update of another update! Apparently Samsung are totally unaware of this issue with the screens. So I said when will you open and investigation then if more people start complaining to you with the same issue?! So he said we'd certainly have to look into it but we haven't heard anything. So I said fab I'll go back and inform the people. So everyone basically needs to go to Samsung and include these links and the article and pictures of the screen in the emails. For it to happen to multiple people on this specific make and model is not a coincidence! Power in numbers people!

Hi Bees, sorry to say this but SAMSUNG are fully aware of the problem. They've adopted the strategy of...It's material damage due to mishandling, your fault not ours...the problem is that it's hard to prove it's their fault ! They're playing on words and won't budge until there's a full legal attack. There's too much money involved. Everyone, spread the word, keep posting and keep on complaining.

I bought samsung galaxy book4 pro. In a month I woke up to a hairline cracked screen when my laptop was on my desk. I am actually kind of a guy keeps their things very carefully. After seeing this I have escalated the matter to the servicehead team and then the CEO team email address. I have been getting calls that we are in discussion. So since being an entrepreneur and influencer. I told them that I will burn the laptop and make a video of why I did that. Now they are still discussing and increasing the time not accepting the mistake. My laptop even has a defect towards the left side of the speaker which moves and doesn't look sturdy at all. When I mentioned this to the samsung guy who visited he said it is the design and usual. Crazy that samsung service could be this wrong. Have been using mac from very long and wanted an upgrade but didn't knew that I am going for a downgrade. So everyone who is getting this issue we need to join hands share their email address here on this and let's connect and make a video and post it on youtube and insta. Let's make them bleed and let their stocks crash. Unity has more strength.
