Bought my Galaxy Book 6 about 2 weeks ago. Really like the laptop overall, but the webcam is noticeably smoothing my face during video calls. My colleagues have started telling me I look like a K-pop star, which is flattering but not exactly the look I'm going for on a work call.
I've tried everything I can find:
- Windows Studio Effects: already off
- Samsung Settings app: nothing camera-related in there
- Intel Graphics Software: no camera section
- Uninstalling/reinstalling the Intel PTL AVStream Camera driver (v71.26100.0.20207): it just reinstalls itself
- There are no beauty or filter toggles anywhere I can find
The smoothing seems to be happening in the Intel IPU hardware processing pipeline before any app even sees the video feed. There's no user-facing setting to turn it off.
Is anyone else seeing this? Is there a fix I'm missing, or does Samsung need to push a driver/firmware update to let us disable this?
I have had to buy a webcam for now, but Id like to solve!
Model: Galaxy Book 6
OS: Windows 11 Home
Camera driver: Intel(R) PTL AVStream Camera v71.26100.0.20207
