Do you have a operating disk that you get when you buy a new motherboard ?? I only as as I've built quite a few pc's. This disk is supplied and installed before the installation of the operating system.
You should be able to go to the manufacturer's website to download the latest BIOS for your pc on another computer and load it to a memory stick. The location of the CMOS battery varies depending on the model and in newer models they tend to be concealed inside a plastic pouch, in some cases you have to dismantle the laptop to get at it. If your not fully competent dismantling a laptop it's much safer to let a qualified technician do it as they break easily and can be costly if you make mistakes. Hope this helps
If there is no CMOS battery or if it's flat you would normally get a checksum error when you boot up the pc. I think the CMOS battery on your laptop is buried in the circuitry of the laptop so it has to be stripped down to get at it. If your competent in dismantling and reassembling a laptop you could do it yourself but it's a job for a skilled computer technician. If you have already got it dismantled I think the connector is located alongside the HDD assembly which if unplugged and reconnected should reset the BIOS to default settings. The problem is the laptop can be damaged in the process of disassembly and reassembly so it needs to be done by a specialist so as not to damage your laptop beyond repair. I hope this helps
