UPDATE on the soundbar issue after OTN update Q990D

I received a call today from the Samsung authorised UK repair centre. 
The affected soundbars require a 'new part' (motherboard) and due to the number of failures Samsung is out of stock of said part. 
He told me that they (Mint Group FX) have ordered the part and if they are unable to get it by next Wednesday 25th March, then I will either receive a refund or replacement unit. 

So that will be a minimum of 14 days waiting and listening through the dire TV speakers! 1st World problem I know, but frustrating non the less.

@ApocalypseRogue7122  Thanks for the update, the time frame certainly is frustrating  but hopefully will be resolved one way or the other.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Hi. Samsung has sent a faulty update to all Q 990 D sound bars and everyone who has got a sound bar connected through WiFi has got a problem as you can not set up Q symphony on your tv because Q990 can not connect to your WiFi after faulty update 😉.

Hi all,

I too have had this problem with a different model. Happened after the update was sent last week. Mine is the HW S700D. Very annoying.

I'm also in the same situation. My Q990d was sent for repair (replacement main board) Unfortunately due to high demand, no parts are available! I'm currently waiting for a response from Samsung on a decision on replace or refund. I'm guessing the store I purchased it from will be instructed to send a replacement.

Same here, I have to wait until tomorrow (14 days wait) to see if the part has arrived, if not then refund or replacement, the concerning issue for me is that where I bought it from is no longer trading. 🤷🏻

When I hear from Samsung, I'll update this post with their offer. I'm sure they will send you a replacement.

Samsung have offered to replace or partly refund based to age of the unit.
I hope Samsung have offered you the same?
I opted for a refund.
