Q990D Soundbar issue after updating....

So my 4 month old Q990D 'bricked' after the disastrous Samsung OTN update. Well I'm pleased to say that Samsung UK and their approved tech company Mint FX have now fixed it.

I first contacted Samsung chat tech who raised a ticket, this was on March 14th. A tech came out to collect the soundbar last Wednesday to have it's board replaced and it's being delivered back and re-installed next Tuesday.
It takes a little time to sort out but generally it wasn't the bad experience I was expecting. I hope you all get yours fixed, replaced or refunded.

It’s great to hear that your Q990D soundbar has been fixed and is on its way back to you! 🎉 Sounds like Samsung and Mint FX eventually came through, though it did take some time. I’m sure it must be a huge relief after all the frustration with the bricking issue.

Yea it was a bit stressful to begin with. I count myself as 'one of the lucky ones' due to the scale of the issue the board that was needed to repair it was "in stock". I got the penultimate board, if Mint FX didn't have any it would then be on 'back order' via Samsung. Took 2 weeks from initial contact to having it repaired. I count my blessings as I've heard that other people are having a nightmare with the process due to Samsung wanting the consumer to "drop off" their soundbar at a 'service center' or ship it to them! 😱
