Ho un Samsung S7 EDGE H3G con Android 7 (Nougat) e non ho la possibilità di settare la banda del hotspot, è per default di 2.4 Ghz.
Cercando in rete trovo solo discussioni su come fare dando per scontato che vi sia l'opzione.
Appurato che vi è la possibilità, mi viene da pensare che sia un problema di personalizzazione della Tre (3) (H3G).
Riporto la descrizione più completa trovata in rete (io ho solo le voci riportate in grassetto):
Android 7.0 Nougat
1.Check that Wi-Fi and Smartphone Mobile Hotspot are turned off.
2.Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot settings cannot be changed when Wi-Fi sharing is turned on.
3.From any Home screen, tap the Apps icon.
4.Tap Settings.
5.Tap Connections.
6.Tap Mobile HotSpot and Tethering.
7.Tap Mobile HotSpot.
8.Move the slider to the ON position.
9.If prompted, create a Wi-Fi password. When the pop-up window appears:
1.Tap the Password field.
2.Enter the password (passwords must be at least eight characters).
3.Tap Save.
10.Tap the MORE icon in the top right of the screen.
11.Tap Allowed devices to manage the devices using your hotspot from the Menu drop down.
12.Tap to turn on Wi-Fi Sharing to use a Home Wi-Fi network from the Menu drop down.
13.Tap Configure Mobile Hotspot from the Menu drop down.
14.Tap to adjust the following settings:
•Network SSID
•Broadcast network name (SSID) (on/off)
•Security
•Password
•Show password
•Show advanced options

◾Auto
◾Select from 1 to 11
◦Maximum connections
◾Select from 1 to 8

◾5 minutes

15.Once finished adjusting settings, tap SAVE.
16.Tap the Mobile HotSpot Switch to turn on.
17.If desired, tap OK read the First Time Use details or tap Cancel to proceed.
18.The Mobile HotSpot Switch slides right and turns green.
