Hi People.

I thought I'd give a few of my thoughts regarding this.

Come 2025 there is a possibility Samsung may or may not charge for use of AI so here is what I feel should happen.

I would be happy to pay for a bundled subscription instead of say just an AI subscription.

By bundled I mean something similar to Google One.
I pay for Google One subscription and the things I get with are .
Cloud storage.
Easy access on all my devices.
Pixel exclusive gallery edits.
10% discount on Google products ( if on a higher tier subscription)
And other stuff.

That's why you may hear be banging about How I can turn my Samsung into a glorified Google phone if I wish so.

The above also helps me to Factory Reset my phone once every six months or after a major OS update to keep my phones in optimal runny conditions as I don't loose anything.

So to Samsung I would urge if further down the line they do plan to go down the payment route maybe collaborate with Google with regards to the above so as Samsung users we can benefit from both Google and Samsung.and keep buying phones. From you.

Also please give option to choose between MS One Drive and Google One for gallery uploads and not force MS one drive down our throats by making it the default option.

Thank you.

Thoughts Welcome.

I think the full power of AI is yet to be seen, but I am in two minds.

I think the cost of the flagship handsets should warrant having these features without subscription, at least for a year or more. At the very least, a sales promotion 'a year of AI with your purchase'... similar to the Disney plus type of promotion.

there are some AI features that I have no interest. It is a nouvelle feature to be able to doctor your photo images to be a completely different image to the original. Not sure how I feel about this... Surely good photography is about having an eye for that great image and not by moving people around and erasing items.

Perhaps for translation services it may be possible to pay a small fee when abroad to use this live translation services. Most of the year I don't see it being used. Currently the live translation is inaccurate.

Finally some of these 'clever' features already existed in the earlier handsets under the guise of 'bixby vision'... seemingly the most hated assistant in mobile phones 😆. But bixby vision was quite useful for AI searching a picture and some other tasks. It just wasn't very well publicised.

I am not sure how I feel about AI yet... time will tell just how useful it becomes.

Exactly my point as well. Hence the option for a bundle service if they do decide to go for the paying options.

The only useful AI stuff I find useful is the writing styles and translation but they are not that important that I'd go out of my way to pay for them.

Gallery edits are cool but again not a deal breaker and should be included for free regardless.

If are at a point where everyone is doing everything and people have choice.
AI will have to be freely available like the Internet in years to come.

It's like the Internet 2.0

I think by the time charges are introduced, people will know if they need the AI features or not.

Matter of taste really.
Some are cool to have.

Like the AI translation although Awesome is something most people won't use on a daily basis unless maybe you work in a travel related industry.

The generative wallpapers again cool to have but not a deal breaker.

They are cool features for sure. I think it will be different for people
For example, if they took away the AI features today, I would not miss them. I think they will introduce more AI features in the months ahead and I may have a different view. I also think, and this is a wild guess, there will be some mega cool AI feature which they will introduce when the charges come in to effect to tempt more people in to paying.

Hi @GoanGeek

No idea which way Samsung will go with this but at least they did provide a heads up in their Unpacked Event.

I wouldn't be surprised if they kept the A.I service free for the Samsung s²⁴ Series of phone's  🤔

I find myself using the circle to search and the writing styles in messages regularly so I would be fine paying a reasonable fee.

Daily Driver > Samsung Galaxy s²⁵ Ultra 512Gb ~ Titanium Black.

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.

I think  if you are paying a premium price for a phone at least the current AI features should be free, over the years of course it may well become more advanced.  certainly there are a number of cool features (do not think I would have much use for Live Translation).  However, probably  would  not  be willing to pay a subscription mind you unless it was part of a bundle with Cloud Storage.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

It's not unusual Google and Microsoft, plus Chat GPT offer paid premium subs already.

Seems businesses fail to appreciate subs are the first think customers cut to save, so the income is never constant.

Now Microsoft O365 has me caught hook line and sinker.

Tbh i think if we add up all the apps we are paying I think it sums up to a pretty high amount of money. I think these companies should make a bundle and give discounts because some customers pay for years and each app starts from at least £5,99 a month and some of them are £10. I know we need them but probably it sums up to approx £20-£30 or more depending on every customer needs. I hope something will be done about this. If you add paying for AI it will be more on the monthly budget. I hope discounts are in order.
