I removed my smart tag from my account to move it, but now I can’t add it back. It says the tag is still linked to an account, but it doesn’t show up in the original account, and I can’t reconnect it to the original account.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have a similar issue. May smart tag2s (all 4 of them) are no longer showing on my account. I bought them last year, had them all set up and working well. My phone did an update to Smartthings and now I can no longer see them on the app. I have reset them per the instructions above successfully, but I continue to get the message that they are "already connected to a different account and have to be removed from that before they can be connected". I have no way of removing them from my account, as I can't see them anywhere.
