So after swapping out many of these batteries with Smarttags and other items, I had no idea the sticker on the underside must be removed.
I am no way going to keep the stickers that cause sickness if swallowed for pranks...
A Smarttag+ I keep in the car suddenly went dead at the most inappropriate time, when we could not find our car at Goodwood.
Just remembered to swap the battery, realised I had left the safety sticker on, remove it battery status back to green sufficient.
