Hi everyone, I've had one of my smart tags stolen and I was wondering if I would be able to do something to disable it? Also how close do you have to be to be able to ring it? Thanks 😊

Using the SmartThings app or Find My app, enable Lost Mode on the tracker. This renders it useless to anyone except you and allows the tracker to display your contact information for return. The ring range is approximately 30-100 meters

Sorry to hear about your SmartTag being stolen! If it’s a Galaxy SmartTag or SmartTag+, unfortunately there’s no way to remotely disable it if someone else has it. Once it’s out of your Samsung account range, the person can reset and re-pair it.

As for ringing it — you usually need to be within Bluetooth range (around 120m/400ft in open space, but less indoors). If you're close enough, you can use SmartThings Find to ping it or try the AR tracking (for SmartTag+) if it's nearby.

I'd also suggest marking it as Lost in SmartThings Find — this alerts other Samsung devices nearby to help track it anonymously.

You don't have to set as lost to see where the tag is, it uses the smart tag network to communicate back using other Samsung devices and should show on map
