Hi,
Samsung should finally adapt the fast charging speeds,
because the Chinese manufacturers already have over 200W charging speeds and the more efficient GaN chargers.
In the ideal situation,
the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S Series will have at least 6000mAh battery,
with at least 100W charging speed,
and also GaN chargers on the market.

@WinstonSmith  Whilst there are demands for faster charging there are trade offs.  I would  say that is not advisable to charge at very high speeds constantly .  Super fast charging can  reduce the overall lifespan of the battery , the heat generated may cause the battery to degrade faster  (though if you upgrade regularly  may not be too much of an issue).  There are also safety issues to consider, even if manufacturers  should have  have mechanisms to deal with this.

I do not work for Samsung or make Samsung Products but provide independent advice and valuable contributions.

Nobody is forced to charge on the maximum speed.
You can if you want,
but nobody is forcing you to do it.
But in fact,
it has no soo devastating impact as some people are saying.
If someone is using an original, genuine charger which is not damaged,
no any surge or anything similar, it will be OK.
The majority of Samsung owners are not keeping their phones for ages, as the iPhone users
(still a lot of iPhones 7, 8 around)
And the oldest Samsung which I saw someone using today, was S10 5G,
which is still a good phone.
So, if you are planning to change your phone after one, two years, you'll be OK.
If you are changing your phone after three or more years, the battery won't be good anyway.
But the original battery is not so expensive.
The problem is changing.
Not Galaxy S5 anymore.
