I lost my Samsung Tag 2 and was able to track it to a location using my phone's camera. It was last seen on the ground in a parking lot. Staff at the location informed me that someone may have reset the tracker and taken the tag. I have the serial number, proof of purchase, and the original box for the Smart tag. I'm considering reporting it as stolen in case the thief tries to use it with my serial number but I am unsure if this will help me find my tag. I hope Samsung can release an update to prevent thieves from resetting the tag when found. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Hello. Thank you for your responses. I believe that the battery was removed because the tag was ping in one specific spot and never moved from there that was the last know location.

Not everyone can afford to lose things specially having to replace them after they are lost. So I have no other choice to hope to find it or pray someone else does.

Thank you for getting back to me. I searched on Google and it suggested that long-pressing the button and remoing the battery you can reset the tag. However, it seems like that information might not be accurate. Everyone else is saying that it needs to be removed from the Smart app.
