As a frequent motorcycle rider I am facing a lack of basic Google Assistant functions for controlling my phone remotely while riding. Here is a list of basic functionality I would like to be fixed/introduced in the future:
- I can open Google maps app, but cant control it in driving mode: dismiss notification about reaching intermediate goal and continue the journey. Accept or Cancel suggestions about road changes. Cancel other notifications.
- I cant open default music app i.e. youtube music. It forces me to use Spotify which doesn't exist. If the app is already open you can use it via voice, but assistant tries to make difficulties for you i.e. command "play music" does not work, "play music in youtube music" works sometimes, but mostly forces to use spotify. If both commands doesn't work you can cheat assistant in other ways and it works..mostly, but this cheating approach is so annoying and dangerous because of road accident.
- Cant accept the call from social media apps.
- Cant hide missed call screen which covering maps.
- Searching Google Maps while driving would be great, but this is not a basic feature I guess.
Also I tried Voice Access. It was promising, understands speech very well, but needs adjustments as well.
