After the most recent update the screen on my watch retruns to the watch face while I am running. When I am running I want to look down and see how far I have run and how long it has taken me not what time it is. The primary reason for buying the watch was to have time and distance measured and it was perfect for the job until the update two days ago. Very frustrating.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. My app has updated and I have now lost my favourite watch face so I will have to try another one. Once I have got myself back to where I was before these annoying updates I will try disconnecting my watch from the phone so I can block all future updates to the watch from Samsung

Why is no one fixing this?

Same issue, changing watch faces did not fix the issue for me. Makes exercises a pain in the butt now.

Same for me, hopefully solvable with a future update because it is very frustrating, especially during interval training where you want to look at your watch frequently while being under a high workload. Also, before the update, if you were at the homescreen there would be an activity indicator like a running person on the bottom of the screen, this guy is gone now. So it's the very annoying combination of going to the homescreen AND not being able to get back to the activity as easy as before making the watch worthless for some activities now. Maybe these are related in software because the activity needs to set a flag that it doesn't do now that keeps it active and turns on a return button on the homescreen. But that's an exercise for you. Would be very pleased to see a fix, because this is a deal-breaker for me for future use and recommendation to others of this watch or the Samsung ecosystem since my trust in proper testing is gone now.
For reference, I'm on Watch 5, non-pro, large variant paired to Galaxy A71

This is a problem with the most recent update Samsung automatically installed on the watch. It is a royal PitA.
Try to uninstall the last update? Good luck. Samsung doesn't want you to be able to do that. I have not yet found a workaround. When your working out, you don't want to be F'ing around with your stupid watch.

Same problem. It's very annoying. Quite apart from not being able to see the stats while you go, it now takes a while to navigate to the Finish button to be able to stop the workout when finished. If this can't be fixed I'm afraid my next Smart Watch won't be a Samsung.
