Watch doesn't count laps while swimming after last update

After last software update my Watch lost ability to count laps while swimming. Previously it worked quite well, even detecting style. Now regardless of the style of swimming the distance is always zero. 

I tried rebooting and resetting. Must be a software bug introduced in last update. I saw some posts on reddit complaining about the same.

Is someone in Samsung working on a fix ?

Going on 3 years now. . . I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Samsung doesn't give a *****. Especially since they apparently discontinued this previously great tracker. Too bad. . . I switched to a Garmin and I am very happy with it. It's far more accurate on lap counting (although it doesn't even attempt to detect stroke type).

No, and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting. I had forgotten about this thread - that's how long it's been since anyone posted anything here. Nearly 2-1/2 years. Looks like Samsung has stopped selling this watch and has no intention of supporting it. That's a shame. It was a very good tracker and could easily have been made into a great tracker with a little effort on Samsung's part. After owning this watch and a refrigerator from Samsung, I'm probably not going to be buying anything else from them - their customer focus is non-existent.

Same story, same feeling. Bought this watch for pool swimming, first three months it was perfect and after the first update the watch is useless. I was very surprised that they told me, samsung makers, that the watch isn't prepared for swimming but in their advertising you see the use of this SM4 Classic in the swimming pool...

Good morning, I am writing to report that after the update to wear os 5 my watch 6 classic no longer measures the laps done in the pool, before the update everything worked perfectly, this makes me very sad because I go to the pool 3 times a week and with this update I have lost one of the functions that I care about most, as the counting of the laps done is very important to me. I hope that a remedy can be found for this problem, if anyone has any advice it will be welcome.

I would like to point out that I have already performed a hard factory reset but nothing has changed.
