I have had my Samsung Galaxy watch 3 for a few days now, litterally as it came out, I had it.
I was really excited for the watch but there are a few issues with it, mainly the deep sleep tracker is not working properly.
For the first 3 days when I bought it, the deep sleep tracking was working fine. But since then, it keeps telling me that I have 0% deep sleep, or very low percentage like 3%. I know this is wrong as I feel energised.
I have so far read a few articles on people with the same issues.
I have tried doing four things:
1. Factory reset
2. Go to the hidden diagnostic section of the watch by dialling #*0*# (or something like that)
It gave me access to the sensors etc, and I reset the settings, calibrating the sensors with a PASS feedback on all sensors.
3. In the screen wake up section of the advanced setting of the watch, I turned off Wake-up Gesture and touch wake up. I have bezel wake up turned on.
4. Touch sensitivity, do not disturb, goodnight mode and theatre mode are all turned off.
Please let me know how I can fix this issue... I am very disappointed with the watch so far even though I am a great Samsung fan.

Decided to return it. I like the watch otherwise but this issue and the lack of response/support was really bothersome, especially on a watch at this price point.

I just personally think that my sleep is garbage. Doesn't matter if I wake up rested or not... 30+ years of terrible sleeping habits will make me feel well rested off of 3 hours of sleep or 30. I'm actually going to confirm what the watch/phone is telling me with an actual sleep study since my watch is stating that I'm only getting 3-7 minutes of deep sleep a night and wake up over a dozen times (I do toss and turn a lot)

Same issue here on my galaxy watch 3 45mm. One of the main reasons I bought the thing and it doesn't work. I have found that the Gnight app records my sleep way better but, it doesn't break it down like S health. I'm pretty sure there is nothing to do but, wait for samsung to actually fix it which could take forever or it could be tomorrow.
If they don't fix it soon I'll be selling it and getting something else that actually works.

I have the same problem, I just bought a GalaxyWatch (D85D), Model Number SM-R805F, Software Version R805FXXU1FSL4, UI 1.5, Tizen 4.0.0.7, and the deep sleep calculation is 5% while on my previous watch "Gear S3" it was much accurate (on average 30% ). I wish that someone could help.

Same issue here on my galaxy watch 3 45mm - low to no deep sleep metrics and low sleep score. I also tried using the 3rd party "Sleep for Android" app which integrates with Samsung Watch and it gives me the exact opposite problem - reporting 70-80% deep sleep. Very odd since it is using the same sensor data from the watch! Neither number is correct. I've had multiple fitbit devices that always provide similar "normal range" numbers. I bought this watch to replace and upgrade my fitbit and have overall been pretty disappointed in the overall functionality for the cost. This sleep issue appears to be a wide-spread software issue that could and should be an easy patch.

I has gotten to the point that my wife set up a sleep study for me, so I am interested to see what the results of that are (whenever i can get a chance to talk with the specialist that is)

I do suffer from terrible sleep patterns, but on the nights I do sleep well, it still shows a very low amount of deep sleep. My Garmin shows a much more reasonable amount. Sometimes I will wear them both at the same time. The amount of movement and awake times are pretty consistent, just not the deep sleep. Super frustrating! This needs fixed!
