My Samsung Watch 6 does not track steps on Elliptical, I move my arms with
the elliptical arms so not sure why it doesn't. Fitbit and Garmin both record steps! Does anyone else have steps track with elliptical?
Is there any way to fix this? I've tried selecting treadmill but this doesnt work either.

I have a GW4 Classic and it also does not count steps as part of the workout. What I do is to keep the phone in my track pockets. The steps are counted, just not as part of the exercise.

For treadmill, the watch asks for the distance to be calibrated. Based on that it shows steps as part of the exercise.

This is what I have discovered:  If I place my hands low on the elliptical handlebars, so my elbows bend close to my waist, my Galaxy 6 Classic will record most steps.  I'm not convinced it's recording all of them, but far more than it was when my hands were higher on the handlebars.  My old Gear2 recorded around 4100-4500 steps for a 36 minute workout; now, the 6 Classic is recording around 4100-4400 steps for a 45 minute workout. I'm 5'4 and on a home Horizon Ex-59.  Hope this helps someone.

I've resorted to having my phone on me as suggested by Neo001. Incredibly annoying though! I will try to reposition my hands and see if that helps.

Thanks, tried this also and noticed same thing, very odd this subtle change makes a difference, also not the most natural feeling way to grip the machine... 😕
