Missing option to disable 'Ongoing Notifications' icon

I have a problem: I can't seem to find an option to remove the ongoing notification icon appearing at the bottom of the watch screen, for example while listening to any media app. Since this used to be an option, it is quite annoying it was later removed. Me and plenty of other people find the icon unnecessary and sometimes obscuring important information.

The lack of customisation is always limiting no matter how you look at it. Many users have reported similar issues and I would love if Samsung would bring the option to hide the icon back.

Currently it is indeed not possible to get rid of the ongoing notifications. Best to send your feedback via Samsung Members app > Support > Send feedback.

Any news from Samsung on this one? I just moved over and it is pretty annoying. Maybe I will get used to it but feels like an unnecessary tool which is forced.

Do you all here now have the option, within galaxy wearable, to turn off the ongoing icon?
In advanced features it lists, "Show ongoing icon" with a toggle. This must be new as when I first got my watch 1yr+ ago, I had to get a watch face made to keep that icon from obscuring info.
