Galaxy Watch Ultra/7 Sleep Tracking, Sleep Mode - Bio Sensor constantly on over night

Hi,

I recently bought a Galaxy Watch Ultra and love it 🙂 One issue is bugging me though. I use it every night to track my sleep, keeping it on my wrist over night.

In general Settings I have all Health Features (Heartrate, Stress etc.) set to manual only.

Before going to sleep I am enabling Airplane Mode, Power Saving (keeping Health features enabled though) and disabling GPS/NFC. Then I activate Sleep Mode right before going to sleep.

For Sleep Tracking I have disabled Blood Oxygen, Snore Detection and Skin Temperature Measurement in Settings. So these shouldn't cause the sensor to fire constantly.

What happens is, after maybe 30 Minutes in bed, the Bio Sensor lights up green and stays that way constantly till I wake up. It won't turn off even when I disable Sleep Mode after getting up. I have to take the watch of my wrist, and then the sensor stops lighting up green right away.

This constant Sensor firing during the whole night is kinda annoying, since you can really see it in a dark room when the watch is not really absolutely tight at your wrist.

Is this the intended behavior of the the sensor during sleep mode? I read, at least for older galaxy watches, the Sleep Mode was there to prevent exactly that bright green sensor lighting to not annoy people during sleep ....?

And even if it is, does it have to be constantly monitoring all night? And why doesn't it stop when I am obviously not sleeping any more?

Take care,

raptor

This can happen if the watch is too loose and movements cause it to measure. The watch also has to learn the sleeping habits and should learn them after some time and regularity. Otherwise a reset might help.

Hi!

I have the same issue. In the first couple of weeks I had sleep tracking and everything on just to try. But since I sleep very good I then decided to stop monitoring sleep. I have always had HR set to manual only along with stress, temp and all that. But if I wake up at night my sensor is flashing green. It drains my battery with about 10 percent every night as well. If I look in my S Health app in the morning and open the Pulse section I can se reports from every hour from between 21:45-05:00.

What could cause this?
