Galaxy watch 5 - Some caller names not showing

Hi all, I've noticed some strange behaviour on my GW5:

for some incoming calls the caller name (from contacts) is shown on the watch but for other only the number calling is shown (although these numbers are also saved in contacts).

For example, for the recent 20 calls in the call log half of the calls are logged just as phone number, other with caller names. But all these numbers/callers are saved in the contacts - I can see them in Contacts app on my watch!

Not 100% this is happening since the last watch os upgrade (Wear OS 4/One UI 5, last update security patch level July 23).

I have the same problem
The problem is solved by adding the country code to the beginning of the phone number of the contacts, but I cannot do this for my 1500 contacts. Please find a better solution

This is the fix no factory reset or anything like that. I had the same problem for months aswell only phone numbers showing instead of names on the watch this is what i did.

1. Go to Settings on watch

2. Go to notifications

3.Tap show phone notifications on watch and tap show alerts in when phone is in use .

4. Now go back and select advanced settings under notifications and turn all four options on. Thats it then all contact names will show on watch when getting a phone call.

I fought with the same problem and tried to find solution.Finally I tried a theory on my own and it worked fortunately. I carefully checked the difference of my phone's contact numbers with my watch those are not showing in my watch as caller ID which was saved in contact book. I found a difference. Those which contacts are not saved with my country code in my phone book, watch is not showing when that contacts are calling. So I added my country code and figured out that it works successfully. Try this... I think it should work 100%.

I found the solution it's kinda simple but kinda a bit annoying for me or maybe for all of you facing the same problem. 

CHANGE THE LANGUAGE OF YOUR DEVICE (phone and watch) to the same country of most or all your saved contact country code. That's all

I'm not from English speaking country but I always use all my device with English language setting bcs I always think that it feels weird to translate some function to my native language. 

Anyway give it a try, I tried it with mine, my wife, 2 of my friends  and my mom's galaxy watch. It works

For my mom's, I changed it to English first restart and change it back to my native language

Add +91  in your contact number 

And then samsung smartwatch shows name instead of number

Yes it's work thankyou so now your phone use native language ? Or you can change it to english ? I change it to english and then the caller name can't show again 🫡
