A few days before Christmas my watch 4 appeared to freeze up a few minutes later it turned off. The battery percentage at the time was roughly 70% since that time I have had the watch on charge but I have not been able to turn it on. I have tried holding down both buttons but to no avail
The current software version is R880XXU1HXB7

Thank you for your reply. I have just watch a video regarding clearing the cache and it involves following the onscreen instructions. Unfortunately my watch is not showing anything on the display

May I extend a Warm Welcome to the Samsung Community Forum 👋
If the force restart isn't working taking into account it can take upto 30 seconds whilst holding down the buttons to work then I'd suggest to let a Samsung Service Centre have hands on to assess your watch > https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/repair/
If i can be of any further help please don't hesitate to ask 😎

The advice I offer is my own and does not represent Samsung’s position.
I'm here to help. " This is the way. "

Thank you. I have tried holding down the buttons for up to 2 minutes with no affect so it looks as though the service centre will be my only option

Yes they quoted me more than what it would cost to buy the same watch refurbished. I decided to bite the bullet and buy a watch 7. I thought if I bought a refurbished one I might end up with the same problem after a couple of months

I went to the service station, and they told me that my motherboard was dead and needed to be replaced, which would cost more than half the price of the watch.
Before giving up, I decided to try one last thing. I rapidly connected and disconnected the watch from the charger several times within seconds. And boom—it suddenly started charging again!
I have no idea how, but it's working now!
