The back (top) button of my watch is not working, when I press it nothing happens. Is this a hardware problem or a software problem. And how do you find out if a device is still under warranty.

It seems I'm not the only one who has this problem. I probably damaged the back button when I was out for a run. Don't really think the impact was too strong for it to break but anyway. Since I don't know anything about warranty for these watches I have to buy something new. My friend recommended me to buy AppleWatches, but I don't really like apple products as they are way too trendy. Now I'm reading some reviews at FindYourSmartwatch.com and trying to choose among these rugged models. Still a little frustrated because I had some great moments with my broken watches.

Hiya.  Same problem with my watch after 2 years of pool and beach use.  Gave it to my son, he cleaned the button extensively with windex and glasses cleaner, then just kept working on the button.  It now works 75% of the time.  It seems the back button is vulnerable to debris build up for some reason.  This watch has taken a beating and still looks great, can't complain

My active 2 having back button is not workable and the samsung pay keep poping out problems. I sent to samsung store for repair, they quote me S$300!!! They suggest me to buy a new one. What a joke for this watch which I only used it for one and half years. I give up this brand and feel disappointed.

I was able to send it off for a free repair as it was still in warranty at the time

Yeah, I got a massive discount on my next one actually, if you can just go straight to a Samsung dealer don’t mess around online that’s what I did and they were super good about it.

I had the same problem. Phone was out of warranty so decided to take the watch apart . Found slight corrosion on the button circuit board , cleaned with isopropyl and cotton bud . Reassembled and works a treat .

same problem but with lower button: does not click, seems loose, and as conequence, invokes to pop up randomly SamsungPay app, discharging watch battery even during airplane/sleep mode.
