Galaxy 6 smartwatch

I've had my new smartwatch a couple of days ,but I'm having issues getting notifications etc to my watch,email,whatsapp and texts are not coming up on the screen and alerting me,I've been on you tube etc to try and get tips, still not successful, when I look at apps it tells me gmail hasn't sent as I wasn't wearing the watch ? I was and I don't have tattoos there any tips and advice would be great as I'm getting very frustrated 🙃

I assume that the Do Not Disturb function isn't activated. 

If not then first turn Off and On the notifications tonsee of that helps.  

If not clear Cache Files on the watch.
