Can I use Galaxy Watch 4 LTE without e-sim?

So, I bought LTE version just in case. If and when I might need it. Also I read there's an overheating problem. If I don't connect mobile plan -- do I get the same experience as with non-LTE version or there are some drawbacks?

Currently when I'm wearing airpods connected to my oneplus 5 phone and answer a call with my watch, the sound goes to my watch loudspeaker and I can only redirect sound to airpods via my phone. I'm wondering whether it's due to the fact that I have LTE version of watch.

I've a similar problem with watch 3 lte and s21 ultra .When my headphones are connected to watch listening to music at the gym and still within Bluetooth range of s21 ultra if a call comes in headphones don't work and call plays thru watch speaker , what I have to do is put watch onairplane mode so it's on 4g esim not connected to phone , I can then answer calls via headphones , not the same situation as you as I have lte plan for watch but still as annoying , must be a bug surely ?
